Real Madrid are set to renew their interest in David De Gea, as the goalkeeper enters into the final year of his contract at Manchester United.
The Red Devils are bracing themselves for another attempt by Real Madrid to land Gea, and there is an acceptance at Old Trafford that the 27-year-old Spain international’s ambition to play for the La Liga giants is making it more difficult to keep him with every season that passes.
De Gea told United in 2015 that he wanted to move to the Bernabeu when a swap deal involving Costa Rican No.1 Keylor Navas collapsed at the 11th hour.
Former Atletico Madrid favourite De Gea then signed a new four-year contract.
But he will have just 12 months left on that deal next summer, and United believe that Madrid will test their resolve once again as they search for a replacement for Navas.
